Kazan was primarily a painter whose style was influenced by both European realism and Chinese idealism. His “international” style was clearly well received by Japanese art patrons because even long after Kazan‘s death his art was the subject of several picture books. The seventeen pictures of flowers and (or) birds included in Kazan Gafu (i.e., Kazan’s Picture Album), which was published in 1911, are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
